Energy Bites and Milk Boosters
If you're looking for a healthy pick-me-up snack that will keep you going, then look no further! These delicious Energy Bites are packed full of vitamins, protein and even probiotics! What's even better is that they're easy to make and require no cooking or baking. For all my nursing goddesses out there: these yummy snacks are also AMAZING for boosting milk production as well as give you the energy you need to chase after those beautiful babies. The top three ingredients that are considered lactogenic foods or galactagogues, which means they increase the quality or volume of milk production, is the oatmeal, flax seed and brewers yeast. But for those that are non-lactating, you're getting the benefits of lowering your cholesterol and maintaining healthy blood pressure by eating oatmeal, flax seed's anti-inflammatory omega-3's essential fatty acid properties, that will help with balancing hormones and radiant skin, just to name a few, and brewer's yeast is rich in vitamin B as well as great for boosting the immune system. Not to mention there's peanut butter and chocolate in this recipe...who doesn't love that combo?! But you can always add or subtract ingredients to your liking! Experiment and enjoy!
