Press Balls and Intradermals

The human ear is a microsystem that can be used by acupuncturist to address various physical and emotional conditions by stimulating certain points on the ear. This style of treatment is called Auricular Acupuncture and can be done with very small, thin needles during an acupuncture session. Your acupuncturist may also decide that press balls or interdermals are necessary in order to stimulate certain points and extend the positive effects of the treatment. In this case, small press balls or interdermals are placed in the ear for 3-5 days after your treatment.

Similarly, interdermals or press tacks can also be applied to certain acupuncture points on the body for 3-5 days by your acupuncturist, in order for those points to be continuously stimulated if necessary.
